Similar to a brow lift, forehead lifts can correct wrinkles that form on the forehead as you begin to age. A forehead lift can make you look years younger after one procedure. Those in Orlando, Lake Mary, and neighboring communities can rely on Orlando Plastic Surgery Associates for the forehead lift procedures.
What is a Forehead Lift?
A forehead lift is a surgical procedure to lessen sagging of the forehead skin, eyebrows, and upper eyelids. It may also improve the look of wrinkles in the forehead and between the eyes.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Forehead Lift in the Orlando Area?
The forehead lift is done by Dr. Sosa and Dr. Johnston on people aged 40–60 to slow the effects of aging. A forehead lift can also help improve inherited conditions, such as furrowed lines above the nose or a droopy eyebrow.
In people younger than 40, a forehead lift can help to raise low eyebrows that give the face a “sad” look. A forehead lift can also help people whose brows are so low that they block the upper part of their vision.
You could be a good candidate for a forehead lift in Orlando and the Lake Mary area if you have one or more of the following:
- Deep furrows between the eyes
- Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead
- Nose that doesn’t work properly
- Sagging brows
- Tissue that hangs down at the outer part of the eyelids
What Can I Expect From a Forehead Lift?
Patients may appear much younger and more rested than before. A forehead lift can provide long-lasting results, reducing signs of aging often found in the forehead and brow area.
How Long is the Recovery From a Forehead Lift?
Dr. Sosa and Dr. Johnston will wrap the area with a sterile padding and an elastic bandage You may feel numbness and temporary discomfort in the surgical site, which will be controlled with medication.
You’ll keep your head raised for two to three days after surgery to prevent swelling. Bruising and swelling will most likely occur around the eyes and cheeks, but should begin to disappear in a few days or a week.
As nerves regrow, numbness of the forehead and scalp will be replaced with itching or tingling. It may take up to six months for these sensations to fully disappear. The bandages will be removed a day or two after surgery. Within 10 to 14 days, the stitches or clips will be removed in two stages. Plan to be off work for a week to 10 days.
