A flat tummy and “six-pack” abs. Who hasn’t longed for them? Cutting out the sugar and carbs can help with belly busting, but the sad truth is that all the crunches in the world will not produce that long, lean look.
If you have a protruding belly, excess abdominal fat, or loose, saggy skin in the midsection after losing weight, having a baby, or simply aging, a tummy tuck can sculpt and tone the abdominal area.
What is a Tummy Tuck?
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) in Orlando and Lake Mary is a cosmetic surgery procedure that eliminates excess fat and loose skin while tightening the abdominal muscles. The result is a sculpted midsection and a slim silhouette.
During this procedure, Dr. Johnston will surgically tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall and suture them back into place. He will also remove any excess skin from your abdomen, creating a firmer, flatter midsection.

If you are bothered by the appearance of your abdomen, and want a firmer, sleeker silhouette, and if you have realistic expectations, you are a good candidate. Dr. Johnston will discuss with you your expectations and the anticipated results of your tummy tuck procedure.

What can I expect from a Tummy Tuck?
Your tummy tuck will result in a flatter, firmer abdominal contour that is more proportionate with your body type and weight; however, the final results of a tummy tuck procedure may be initially obscured by swelling and your inability to stand fully upright until internal healing is complete. However, within a week or two, you should be standing tall and confident in your new slimmer profile.
Tummy tucks in Orlando are not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program. Also, a tummy tuck is not meant to correct stretch marks, although these may be removed or somewhat improved if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be excised, typically the treated areas below the belly button.
Skin will be glued together to avoid stitch marks. After this, an elastic bandaged is placed around the tummy to help promote firmer skin. Lastly, during the recovery, Dr. Johnston recommend the use of Spanks or other compression garments.
How long is the recovery from a Tummy Tuck?
During your Tummy Tuck recovery, Dr. Johnston may apply dressings or bandages to your incisions, and you may be wrapped in an elastic bandage or a compression garment to minimize swelling and support your abdomen as it heals following this procedure. Since recovery time depends on your individual procedure, Dr. Johnston will discuss your recovery time with you during your consultation.
